Movement classes are a unique blend of fun, creativity and personal insight drawing from my decades of experience as a professional musician and a voracious learner of movement modalities.
My approach is centered around YOU, my students.
We focus on how you move, what sensations are calling to you on a given day and how to untap stagnated areas in the body.

What are movement classes like?!
While classes might have a theme students should expect a potpourri of modalities customized to support the unique physical challenges students bring to class.
We’ll move through a mix of techniques that draw from Franklin Method, Roll Model Method and mat Pilates for a customized class each time we meet.
Why these modalities you ask?
Great question!
Franklin Method
The Franklin Method is a holistic approach that combines principles of movement science, anatomy, and mental imagery. It emphasizes the use of visualizations and experiential learning to enhance body awareness and movement efficiency. By focusing on how we think about and visualize our bodies in motion, practitioners can improve their physical performance and overall well-being.
Roll Model Method
Roll Model Method is a self-care technique that focuses on releasing tension and improving mobility through targeted massage of the body’s fascia. Using specially designed rubber balls (or even tennis balls in a pinch), practitioners can effectively access and release tight areas in the body, promoting overall comfort and function.
Mat Pilates
Mat Pilates focuses on core strength, which is essential for musicians. A strong core supports proper posture and alignment, allowing musicians to play their instruments more effectively and with greater ease. Pilates emphasizes controlled movements that enhance balance and stability. This is crucial for musicians who often need to maintain specific positions for extended periods, helping to prevent fatigue and strain.
